Workmg in collaboration with a Swedish saddle manufacturer and veterinary surgeons, Propeller have created a whole new concept in saddle design - the 'Rebel Saddle Ergonomically suited to both rider and horse, it was devised to cut down on the problem of musculo-skeletal-related injury to the animal. Saddlery is traditionally a very conservative industry, so it was initially difficult to get the manufacturer to accept the cutting -edge new materials and streamlined motorcycle aesthetic, but once that hurdle had been jumped, the obvious advantage of using a lightweight carbon fibrę composite f ramę could not be denied. The new frame offers even weight distribution, strength and stability. This frame is in turnjoined to an exchangeable seat pad in PU-foam with a rangeof fmishes from leather to textile. These modules can be swapped depending on the rider's age, size, needs and preferred sport. Rather than maintaining the usual forward position of the stirrups, Propeller have now attached these to both the front and back of the saddle in a Y-shaped configuration which distributes the weight evenly over the contact surface of the horse's back. The advantages of this new saddle system are that the horse can be under saddle without prolonged rest periods, the life span of the horse is doubled. it never needs to be refitted and, as a plus to the manufacturer, the profitability of the company increased exponentially with orders for 300,000 units placed in the first three months.
