DiORA RADIO WORKS in Dzierżoniów A Historical Outline.

We are celebrating our fortieth anniversary at Diora Radio Works this year.

!t ali started in November 1945, when a group of specialists, who survived the war, chose Dzierżoniów for establishing the first radio factory in Poland. And so the State Factory of Radio Sets was founded, Dzierżoniów became the cradle of the Polish modern electronic industry. The devastated buildings were re-constructed and fully equipped. Now after 40 years Diora is a completely modern factory renowned both at home and abroad. Here are some of the dates marking the major events in its history:

1945 - The State Factory of Radio Sets was estab-lished.

1947    - The AGA radio, under Swedish licence came

off the assembly linę.

1948    - PIONIER - The first Polish radio - Polish de

sign, Polish production.

1955 - Onemillion radios produced by then.

1957 - The factory changes its name to ZAKŁADY RADIOWE DIORA.

1 960 - Printed Circuits are introducted into radio production.

1961 - The first television sets are produced.

1967 - We had manufactured five million radios by then.

1971    - The first hi-fi set (tuner and amplifier) !eave

Diora. It is the first hi-fi set in Poland and the Comecon Countries.

1972    - We modernized the factory in cooperation

with Sanyo - Japan.

1 976 - We crossed the 10 million mark in radio production.

1978 - We initiated the production of cassette decks of our own design.

1980 - The first hi-fi musie set (tuner, amplifier and cassette deck was produced.
