Admiralty Updating Service

Introduction

The Admiralty Updating Service is an on-line service for subscribers to Admiralty digitai chart services that offers immediate access to the (atest digitai chart updates over the Internet.

The service is complementary to the standard CD-based updating service for Admiralty digitai charts and offers rapid access to the most up-to-date chart Information.

The Service includes both the ARCS Online Update Service and the ENC Online Updating Service.

Transmission costs are minimised by downloading the minimum number of updates for a voyage, regardless of the size of the ship's digitai chart folio. Other charts are brought up-to-date when an update CD is received.

The service is fully compatible with all ECDIS that use ENCs or ARCS. The ECDIS is updated in the same way as using the weekly update CD. An intuitive user interface guides you through the process of selecting and downloading updates, which can then be transferred to your ECDIS on CD, USB memory stick or other media.

The service allows you to choose between using a direct web connection or email to obtain updates.

Notę: A Weekly Update CD will continue to be sent to you via your Admiralty Chart Agent in accordance with Admiralty Notices to Mariners (NMs). for the period of your licence. It is recommended that the Online Sen/ice is used in conjunction with your most recent weekly Update CD and that after downloading remote updates, you immediately update your ECDIS.

We strongly recommend that you keep separate permanent written records of all Information that you choose to download for reference purposes, in linę with SOLAS Regulation Chapter V 2002.
