The character's center ot gravity is out (See Example 1) and she looks unstable.

It is important to consider how the character fits into the scene and how he/she appears. Make surę you have this sorted out before you start drawing the details. It you don't, then you will end up conveying the wrong information. For instance, look at the character below. The revised version has the character standing in a confident pose, but the original looks restless as it she is hiding something, doesn't she?
