lt is difficult to make this kind of very simple pose look three-dimensional. The original looks like a flimsy paper doli because all the lines are the same thickness and the drawing is too symmetrical. When you are drawing arms, the curved outlines are supposed to be different for the inside and outside. But in this picture they are symmetrical and any sense of realism is lost. Try and erase from your mind the preconception that "Legs are thicker than arms, and thighs thicker than calves.” In a muscular man like this character, the thickest part of his calves would be about the same thickness as his thighs.
