Do not open the exam before told to by the instructor!
Before the exam.
1. Check in with the proctors. This requires showing two forms of ID-one of which must be a picture ID. Select a seat leaving a space between individuals, turn off celi phoncs, lcavc all backpacks and othcr pcrsonal bclongings at front of audilorium.
2. You may fili in your student ID number (as well as your name) as soon as you get the Scantron form.
During the Exam.
1. Once the exam has begun, fili in the test form and fili in the dots using a “number 2” pencil. Extra pencils will be available.
2. If you believe you have detected a typographical error in a ąuestion, please ask the instructors about it during the exam. Any errors that are recognized will be corrected by placing a notę on the chalkboard in each auditoriurn.
3. The instructors and proctors reserve the right to ask students to change seats before or during the exam.
Suggestions for approaching multiple-choice questions.
1. Nonę of the qucstions are inlcndcd to be Iricky or mislcading. Rcad each qucstion carefully but don’t look for hidden meanings.
2. Try to identify the best (rather than perfect) answer from the possible choices.
3. Think carefully about restrictive language such as “all”, “some”, “never”, “always”, etc.
4. Try to limit the choices and thcn guess (Ihcrc is no pcnalty for incorrect answers).
After the Exam
5. If you finish early, you may review your answers and quietly tum in your Scantron and exam forms.
6. The exam and the answers will be posled on icon as soon as all make up exams have been completed. Exams will be graded and scores posted as soon as possible. (It will probably takc Exam Services a few days to complele the grading.)
7. If you believe thcre was an error in the grading of your exam, please send a polite E-mail message to Dr. Wold (marc-wold@uiowa.edu). Please use “Biochem Exam” as a subject linę, and indicate the relevant question(s) and foil(s) believed to be in error.
