In the normal arrangement, the stubs are separated by a distance of L = 3A/8 as shown
in Figurę 3.12, but other separations are possible, with appropriate variations to the procedurę described below.
In Figurę 3.12 we see that the load admittance YLand a stub known as S2 are both connected to the right hand end of a length 3A/8 of linę. At the left hand end of that linę
an additional stub known as SI is connected in parallel. To the left of that junction the
linę is supposed to be matched, that is waves travelling rightward in that leftmost section
of the linę experience no reflection when they encounter the junction just to the right of
the referenceplane D.
