1. Eligibility for Admission:
A Candidates who has passed any BacheloFs degree of not less than tliree years duration having studied Mathematics or Statistics or Business Mathematics or Business Statistics or Mathematical Physics as Main or Allied subject from Unieersity of Madras or front any otlier l 'niversity accepted as cquivalcnt thereto.
2. Duration of the Course:
lite Course duration shall be two years. In order to be eligible for the award of the degree the candidatc shall successfully complete the course in a maximum period of fivc years reckoned front the dato of enrolmcnt for the lirst year of the course.
3. Stnicture of the Course and Fcaluation Pattem:

For the conduct of l nicersity Examinations in Practical subjccts the Unhersity will appoint two extcmal examincrs. lite evaluation pattem for practical examinations shall be as follows: Record book : 10 Marks.
Examination: 90 Marks
Project work shall be carried out individually in an R&D section of any Industry or Univershy or in the Institute in which the candidate is studying. The Project Work Dissertation report shall be subntitted Ihrouglt the guide supervisor to the Director . Institute of Distance Fdueation(IDE) and then to the University. If he she fails to submit the Project Work, Dissertation uilltin Ihe stipulaled dale for a particular year. he she may be pennitted willi the approval ofthe Director, IDE lo submit the Project Report Dissertation during the succeeding Years. u itliin the maximum period of FIVE years from the datę of admission to the first semester. Project Dissertation evaluation and \ iva-Voce shall be conducted by two extemal cxaminers.
