LOCATION OF THE GOOD PRACT1CE
The organie waste can be brought to a tank cłose the ncighborhood.
These lanks are called protein tanks. and are in fact an inscet farm. Larwac eat the organie waste within the tank. 15kg Larvae eats 200kg of food waste within 20days.
The insect farm has two different outputs: concentrated compost and inseets. which have a high protein concentration value.
The compost can be used locally in orban farming projeets. for maintenance of green spaces or in nearby farms The inseets can be used as ani mai feed. Inseets are very good fish feed, and thus connecting this system with a kxal fish pond would hdpclosing the food cyclc.
SPECIFIC OBJECTIVE This project cxplorcs insect as food waste transformer for bio-compost.
