Abstract. Identity of ideas, phenomena and things are madę up of history, paradigm and innovativeness. This is a profound methodological truth which should also be employed in so-cial work related issues. It is then followed by definition coining process which culminates in the attempt for social work’s elementum constitutivum. This involves hermeneutics as a pheno-menon (knowledge and science) as well as comprehension, explanation and interpretation process of all the symbols which lead to a discovery of meaningful sense. Thus defined hermeneutics is truth-associated and eventually it is a person-creating factor, sińce it finds its fulfilment only in a person. Mysterium personae - the person’s world delineates methodological examination in the field of social work; this is where a person is understood the ultimate good in the homo homini relation. This publication, for obvious reasons contains draft and synthetic sketches only.
