Here p = k — is a linear augmentation of the projection lens, where y is a size of

the object, y' - the size of the camera, k - a coefficient of a ratio between the size of the camera and the image. With the use of digital cameras with CCD matrix, one of the dimensions of the CCD matrix can be taken as y'. Size y is an expected size of the object along the axis where the selected size of CCD matrix is y. In the majority of cases the size of the image is somewhat smaller than the size of the camera and value k is chosen in the rangę 0.9 - 0.99. The measuring error will be less; the less k differs from 1.

Beside the lens aperture, the scheme of illumination of the implant is eąually important during registration of implants’ shadow images. The easiest way to form a contrast-based shadow images is to insert a matted glass between a non-coherent source of illumination and the object, as shown on figurę 2.

The size of matted glass is calculated with regard to the diameter of the object and the observation angle from the side of the lens (see figurę 2). The expression for calculation of the optimal diameter of matted glass looks as follows:
