It is great to be involved in County Finał Day and to be represented by a very dedicated group of Minors that have brought great honour to the club by their sponsorship, skill and dedi-cation over the past num-ber of years.
This is due in no smali way to the leadership and coaching given by their Mentors, Thomas Callanan, Michael Gleeson, John Cahill, John Dorney, Christy Clancy and until recently Gary Mernagh.
It is difficult to keep Gael-ic Games to the forefront in urban areas.We are for-tunate in Thurles to have Durlas Og, a specialist juve-nile club without allegiance to any adult club. This is a club well worth using as a model in the promotion of Gaelic Games in centres of large population.
Thurles Sarsfields has recently formed a Ladies Football section It is a very welcome addition to the club, bringing new vitality, vigour and enthusiasm.The section is chaired by Brian Burkę and it s secretary is Hazel Maher. It has brought new people into the club.
