Dear Ms Hutnall
Summer Internship - Marketing Assistant (Fixed term 3 month contract)
I would like to apply for the job of Marketing Assistant at the Crown View Hotel Sheffield,
as advertised by the University of Sheffield Student Jobshop.
I am a second year Management student interested in gaining some relevant work
experience during my time at university. Having really enjoyed the marketing modules on
my course and having worked in the hospitality sector, I am particularly keen to get
experience which combines these two areas, particularly because I am interested in
working in this sector once I graduate.
My part-time jobs with Hayload Communications and the Maddox Hotel have been
related to marketing and have provided me with a number of skills required for this
position. My time management can be evidenced through my organisation of a variety of
different projects at both companies including event planning; and my team working
skills through my participation in working groups, committees and sports at university.
My communication skills have also been demonstrated through my assessments at
university; one example is when I worked with other students to successfully present a
case to a business for introducing a new website.
I am keen to work for the world s leading hotel group and was impressed with the
information I received when talking to your colleague, Geeta Sharma, at a recent Part-
time Jobs fair at the University of Sheffield. Your organisation s approach to staff support
and development through the Go Ahead scheme was particularly impressive.
Please find enclosed a copy of my CV and I look forward to discussing this further if I am
invited to interview.
Yours sincerely
Hayley Murray
