The dynamkal behevk>r of a Kirchhoff piata u od er • moviog pretsure wava is Inyestigated. The resufts ara praaantad as dynamie amplification factors. Tha influenca of the load para met er* (propagetion speed, pressure wave duration) and tha piata perameters (slendarness, atpoct ratk>, dampinę. etc.) itdiscutaad. Resultsfor two examplesare praaantad.
Key Wordt: Platas, Beams, Flexural yibration. Approxima-tion method*
This papar presant* an approximata solution to the title problem for the following situations: supportad and c lam pad ractangular platas, circular platas with edges elastically re-strained againtt rotation, and baam* with and* fłexibly attached. The approach i* quite simple and it is thown that tha engineering accuracy achieved is satisfactory from the point of view of the determination of fundamental fre-quancias in a wida yariety of structural element* commonly usad in transducer design and aarospace and neval appl kat ions.

Based on a multipla-mode analysis, Solutions to the nonlinaer equations of motion ara presented for elliptical platas in terma of v»riation» of nonlinaer period* with amplitudes of vibratk>n. The governing equatk>ns are written in terms of lataral displacament w and stress function F and the effects of transverse shaar deformation and rotatory inertia are incorporated into these equations. For the multiple-mode approach contidarad in this papar, an exact solution to the stress function is determined. Effects of geometrie non-linaarity, shaar daformation, rotatory inertia, piata geometry, and model interaction on tha yibration bahaviors of elliptical platas ara inyestigatad in dataii.
