THE EVENT DEVOTED TO THE 100THANNIVERSARY OFACADEMICIAN YALIDA TUTA¥UQ WAS HELD AT THE 1NSTITUTE OF BOTANYOFANAS

The evenl devoledto Ihe 1 OOth Anniversary of Honoredscientisl Prof. Dr., Fuli memher ofAzerbaijan NationalAcademy of Siences Valida Khasbulat Tutayuą was heldat the Institute ofBotany of ANAS.

Opening the event by an introductory word Academican-secretary of the Department of Biological and Medical Sciences of ANAS, academician Ahliman Amiraslanov spoke about the honorable and glorious course of life, multilateral activities ofValida Tutayuq, the innovations introduced by her in science as the wide profile scientisl morphologist and dendrologist. He noted that in spite of the difficulties during the Soviet period V. Tutayuq had repeatedly speeched on the seminars and conferences in the different

Then Director of the Institute of Botany, Prof. Dr. Yalida Alizade delivered a lecture on the scientific and organizationaI activities of academician V. Tutayuq. She noted that V. Tutayuq had worked as a chief of the Department of Botany in the Azerbaijan Agricultural Institute (1939-1957), the Deputy director on Scientific Affairs (1954-1957) and the Director of the Institute ofBotany after L.Komarov ofAzerbaijan Academy ofSciences during 1957-1962 years. In subsequent years, she had leaded the lobarolory in the same Institute (1958-1974) and was a head of Department of Botany and Selection ofAzerbaijan Agriculutural Institute after S.Aghamalioghlu (1980). She was awarded by different ordens and medals and by the title "Honored Scientisl" (1974).

Prof.Dr. Eldar Novruzov, the Deputy director on Scientific Affairs of the Institute of Botany of ANAS, Academician Maharram Babayev, the Head of Soil Genesys Laboratory of the Institute of Soil and Agrochemistry, Academician Zeynal Akberov, Director of the Institute of Genetic Resources, Prof. Dr. Zaur Humbetov, the Head of the Chair of Biology of the Azerbaijan Agricultural Uniuersity, Prof Dr. Kerem Asadov, the Leading scientiest of the Central Garden ofANAS, Dr, Vugar Kerimov, the Head of Department of Systematics of Higher Plants of the Institute of Botany of ANAS were shared the kind remembrances connecting with V.Tutayuq, talked not only about that she was a uisible scientisl, capable organizer and careful lider but ais o about her irreplaceable role as a Citizen.
