14.0.0.1 The TwinPipe system Overview Introduction This section describes the special installation rules which apply when installing the TwinPipe system. When the handling and installation instructions coincide with those for the single pipe system, reference is made to the latter. Position in trench Always place preinsulated TwinPipes and components, so one service pipe is directly over the other (flow pipe at the bottom). The alarm wires must lie at the top of the joint. Pipe label in 12 o clock-position. Termination of If a straight pipe run is not terminated with a straight pipe runs preinsulated component with preinstalled a fixing bars, then weld fixing bars on. If preinsulated TwinPipe branches are not used, pay attention to the following: - On-site made branch, straight taper lock branch, Twin-Twin. Weld fixing bars on the branch in addition to the reinforcement plates*) at the branch pipe pieces. See section 14.2.0.1 of this manual. - On-site made branch with double branch pipe pieces for flexible pipes. Possibly weld reinforcement plates*) onto the branch pipe pieces. *) Consequent use of reinforcement plates complies with the more stringent requirements in accordance with standard draft prEN 13941:2000, also see section 4.2. (Preinsulated components are all available with surveillance wires). This ensures a good inspection of the pipe system during the construction as well as the ope- ration phase for faults like: - Faulty welds - Installation faults - Excavation damages (Flexible pipes are delivered without surveillance wires). Installation In principle connect alarm wires and components and check the system according to the installation instructions in section 23.0 of this manual.
