The 9th International Conference on Spectral Linę Shapes will be held at the Nicholas Copernicus University, Toruń, Poland, from July 25 to July 29, 1988 as the next in the series of conferences organized every two years alternately in Europę and North America.

The program of the Conference will cover various aspects of physical processes associated with the formation of spec-tral-line profiles as observed in the absorption, emission or scattering of radiation by plasmas and neutral gases. Emphasis will be put on new experimental and theoretical results in pressure broadening as well as in other fields where the coupling of collisional and radiative processes is of major
