postrzeganie kobiety w róznych kulturach ( Perception of women in different cultures)

Perception of women in different cultures.

Nowadays, Western culture has developed in us a characteristic model of social life, in which a woman deal a very high position. Representatives of the fair sex who live in Europe are independent, liberated and having full rights as citizens. When we live in such ideal conditions, we often forget that somewhere far away, on the other side of the globe, socio-economic status of women is different. In some regions, like hundretsyears ago representatives of the fair sex position is still a lot lower than men. Women and men have different rights and obligations there. Some inhabitants of the India, Saudi Arabia and Japan are very different than our every-day reality. It's a kind of fight for dignity, survival and basic human rights.

NEMASTI.

 I'm Hindu woman .
In my country, status of women isn't clear. On the one hand, she should create a family and should be treated on a par with the goddess. On the other hand, women are subordinate to men and totally obedient to them.
Women in India look like little princesses, wearing colorful saris and expensive shiny jewelry. However, women in India work very hard. Make-up of a woman from my country is very intense, but not accidental. Hindu woman paints eyes very dark, she trace the contour of the eye usually black coal. The lips are red. An important element of decorating our face is also characteristic red dot on the forehead between the eyebrows. This red dot tells to other people: bindi. Traditionally, it mean that person who wears this dot remains under the protection of a man, father or husband. According to Hindu beliefs, henna-painted hands and feet bring women blessing, happiness and health. The main decorations are also an earring in her nose, a ring with bells, decorative chains and bracelets on her wrists. Our outfit consists of sari and choli or kameez with salwar.
The ancient Code of Manu, which says that a woman can't be independent, is still in force. A woman is treated like an object without the will, desire and right to their own beliefs.
The vast majority of marriages are arranged by parents. Marriage is first, then if you are lucky, love comes. Parents of a young girl choose her husband, but they take into account the appropriate caste, horoscope and required dowry. After marriage a woman moves to her husband's family, where she is often treated like an alien. A woman can never get a divorce. A woman often experiences cruel treatment. When a woman is pregnant, family starts to pray. Pregnant woman wants to born a boy because a girl will be a punishment. If the man dies his wife can't marry a second time.

I'm Aziza. I live in Saudi Arabia. I'm a Muslim women.

In Muslim countries, all women must behave according to the Quran. In relations with the opposite sex I am obliged to keep a distance and modesty. In public life I come into contact with unrelated men in the company of only mahram on the street, in the mosque, hospital, classroom, etc. My modest behavior is very valid, for example I must lower the eyes during a conversation.

The Koran requires women to wear in public places clothes that hide their charms, including a hat and cloak that covers the face. Law called that women mustn't driving cars and the use of perfume. I mustn't also allowed to depart alone more than 24 hours away. This is related to my security.

According to the Koran, a woman can't live without a man. In Saudi Arabian is permitted to beat her when it is disobedient to her husband. In my country, I can't have several husbands, while men can have up to four wives and an unlimited number of slaves. I can only marry a Muslim. I mustn't wear pants, because it carries to imprisonment or flogging.

Women learn mainly medicine, nursing, tailoring and embroidery. We can attend mosques for prayer, lectures and various activities. In addition to the study may also take such a job as a social worker or teacher, unless this is negatively affecting their home responsibilities.

Entering into marriage generates team specific roles and responsibilities of women. It becomes primarily responsible for the family and its moral foundation and the atmosphere in the house. I have taken various decisions in the home environment and is responsible for their consequences. It also has to take care of proper education of young generation.

Furthermore Geisha can be found in several cities across Japan. Geisha and trainees usually belong to special houses (Okiya) where many of them live and prepare for work. Young girls move there typically at age 15 to be taught communication and hospitality skills and various traditional Japanese arts. After that they can become a true Geisha but they must have talent. Geisha are not slaves so they can be in married.
Dinners with Geisha have always been exclusive and expensive. Inviting Geisha to entertain at have been considered as pleasures for rich and high class people. The cost for a party with Geisha varies depending on the number of geisha, food, drink, hours, and so on. But usually the typical cost for a full dinner is around 50,000 yen plus the cost for the meal which is typically between 10,000 and 30,000 yen per person.
In Japan Geisha are the ideal of beauty.
