Computers and the Internet are one of the most widespread leisure time activities and seem to be an indispensable element of our lives. Most people tend to lounge on their comfortable chairs, looking at the computer screens. However, depending upon circumstances, Internet has several advantages and disadvantages.

First of all, the Internet may have negative impact on one's psychological well-being because fraught with violence and pornography websites, can provoke aggression. It is extremely dangerous for children who are not able to differentiate between fiction on the Internet and reality.

That notwithstanding, the Internet is the paramount source of information. It not only broadens minds and increases our knowledge but also informs us about cultural events, crimes or accidents.

However, because of very long exposure to the Internet, people can become addicted to it. As a consequence, people do not talk about their feeling and forget about their basic duties. Finally, according to some doctors, it may be harmful to our eyesight or spine.

Conversely, thanks to the Internet we can keep in touch with friends since we talk and send messages via the Internet. Furthermore, the Internet is one of the most popular forms of entertainment, assisting listening to music, watching films or on-line shopping.

All in all, the arguments supporting the usage of the Internet outweigh the arguments against it. We should use it reasonably because it has a tremendous power and the overuse may lead to abnormal perception of reality, children's aggressive behaviour or physical problems.
