Heave in and secure boat (breast line). If person very exhausted, use stretcher to take him/her on board.

If swell prevents securing of boat, lift stretchered person on board using cargo gear. Thereafter make leeway to hoist in boat by steering tight full turns.

Rig pilot's ladder on weather side. Rig cargo (scrambling) net overside to sea level, also on weather side.

Minimum 2 rescuers in survival suits enter water. Prepare cargo gear or heaving lines, man winches.

Get hold of person, take him/her on board.

Undresses person, places him/her in pre-warmed bed. Two crew members supply body heat.

Caution: Do NOT place person in bathtub or use other means to warm up - danger of circulatory collapse.

Takes temperature rectally (death occurs at 25 centigrade core temperature). Takes blood pressure and pulse. Carefully administers warm drinks with dextrose.
