Childhood memories

Everyone has memories from their childhood. Sometimes these memories are good ones and sometimes they're of a particular event that isn't so nice. Often the things we remember are extremes - (1) _______________ , or something that was quite traumatic.

My first memory is of falling into the pond in our garden. I can't have been more than about three and I was outside playing on my own. One minute I was kicking a ball, the next I was face down in some water. What made it even more frightening was that I couldn't swim. I don't think I went out in the garden for about a week after that happened.
