Installation

Installation

1.    Ensure 'OT' mark on camshaft sprocket aligned with mark on timing belt rear cover (5).

2.    Fit timing belt to crankshaft sprocket and auxiliary shaft sprocket.

3.    Temporarily fit crankshaft damper with one bolt (1). Lightly tighten bolt.

4.    Ensure timing mark on crankshaft pulley aligned with mark on auxiliary shaft sprocket (4).

5.    Fit timing belt to camshaft sprocket and tensioner pulley.

NOTĘ: Belttension must only be adjusted when engine is COLD, as tensioner is fitted with temperaturę compensation unit [7].

6.    Fit wrench Matra V.159 to tensioner pulley [8).

7.    Tum tensioner anti-clockwise until belt can just be twisted with finger and thumb through 9CT at^.

8.    Tighten tensioner bolt to 20 Nm (6).

9.    Tum crankshaft two turns clockwise.

10.    Ensure timing marks aligned (4) & (5).

11.    Recheck belt tension.

12.    Remove crankshaft damper.

13.    Install components in reverse order of removal.

14.    Fit crankshaft damper. Tighten bolts to 20 Wm (1 ].
