ALTERNATOR/STARTER CLUTCH

ALTERNATOR/STARTER CLUTCH

Remove the starter idle gear and shaft.

Remove the flywheel with the starter driven gear using the rotor puller.

TOOL:

Rotor puller    07733-0020001

or 07933-3290001 (U.S.A. only)

(1) FLYWHĘEL

IDLE GEAR

Remove the starter drive gear and shaft.

Remove the needle bearing and cam chain tensioner set piąte. Remove the woodruff key.

STARTER CLUTCH

Inspect the starter clutch by turning the starter driven gear. The starter driven gear should turn counterclockwise freely and should not turn clockwise; if not, replace the starter clutch.

Torx bit IT40)

DISASSEMBLY

If the starter clutch is faulty, remove the socket bolts using a torx bit.

Remove the starter clutch outer, oneway clutch and washer.
