COWLING/MUFFLER/REAR FENDER

REMOVAL

Remove the bolt and side cover by detaching the tab from the frame hole.

MUFFLER/EXHAUST PIPES

Awarmng

• Do not service the exhaust system while it is hot.

REMON/AL

Remove the right side cover.

Remove the muffler mounting bolts, collar and muffler.

Remove the exhaust pipÄ™ joint nuts and exhaust pipes. Remove the protectors.

Remove the exhaust pipÄ™ band by removing the two band bolts and disassemble the exhaust pipes.

INSTALLATION

Assemble and install the exhaust pipes and muffler in the re-verse order of removal.

TORQUE:

Exhaust pipÄ™ band bolt:

22 N-m {2.2 kg-m, 16ft-lb)

Exhaust pipÄ™ joint nut:

27 N-m {2.7 kg-m. 20 ft-lb)

Muffler mounting bolt:

{front): 40 N-m {4.0 kg-m. 29 ft-lb)

(rear): 65 N-m (6.5 kg-m. 47 ft-lb)
