Tape Specification

KT Method



Patient position: seated



Place a 5 cm square, 1.5 cm thick felt
pad over the coracoid process.



Ask the patient to abduct the shoulder
to 90 degrees and apply the base of
the Kinesio Tex to the posterolateral
border of the acromion.



Move the shoulder to external rotation
while maintaining 90 degrees
shoulder abduction.



Stabilize the base of the Kinesio Tex
and apply the other end of the tape
with moderate (50%) available
tension to the coracoid process.



Completed Kinesio Tex application
