SUPPLIES & TOOLS:
• Two 10" doilies
• 1/4 yd Lining
• 1/4 yd Medium-weight iron-on interfacing
• 1 Decorative button and snap
• 1 Beaded purse handle
• 1 skein Embroidery Floss
• Fray Check
™
• Basic sewing supplies
• Sewing machine
DIRECTIONS:
1. Place the two doilies wrong sides together.
2. Stitch around 3/4 of the doilies just below the scallops.
3. On what will be the front of purse, cut away top section of doily – leaving 1" for turning under.
4. Use Fray Check

on cut edge to prevent raveling; turn under, press.

" circles from interfacing and lining.
6. Iron the interfacing to lining.
7. With right sides together, stitch 1/4" seams on lining leaving an opening for turning.
8. Turn; stitch opening closed, press.
9. Place lining circles right sides together and stitch around edges as in Step 2.
10. Place lining into doily purse, cut top section of lining to match doily.
11. Turn cut edge of lining into itself and top stitch. This should be even with the front doily.
12. Slip stitch lining to purse, straight across front and around flap. The scalloped edge of the doily will not be
covered by the lining.
13. Sew the snap to the inside of the flap and front of the purse.
14. Sew button to front of flap.
15. Sew handles onto sides.
