U osób obłożnie chorych istnieje skłonność do powstawania odleżyn, które mogą 
powstawać u pacjentów leczonych we wszystkich oddziałach szpitalnych, np. w oddziale

1. examine pt's skin daily, 

2. provide skin care, 

3. provide personal care PRN, 

4. encourage pt to turn and move in his 

bed, 

5. increase pt's activity; 

6. educate pt about bedsores, 

 

7. change pt's position q 2hrs, 

8. change pt's linen, keep them clean 

and dry, 

9. use foam mattress and elbow, heel 

and buttocks protectors, 

10. keep the bottom sheet accurately 

taut to prevent from wrinkles.
