A little bit about them..
The Świętokrzyskie Mountains are the
oldest and the lowest mountains in Poland,
characterised by unique geological features
to be found nowhere else in Europe.
Świętokrzyski National Park occupies the
highest ridge of the Świętokrzyskie
Mountains, called the Łysogóry. The Park is
situated about 20 km east of the city Kielce.
It covers the entire Łysogóry Ridge and
parts of Klonowskie and Pokrzywiańskie
Ridges. The highest peak is Łysica (612
meters)

Chęciny Castle
The castle was built in Gothic Style in 1300, but
it fell into ruin in the 18th century. The castle
fulfilled different functions. There was residence
of queen Bona, prison of state, headquarters of
crown vault, apartment of foreman of Chęciny.
Rebuilt tower is returned for tourists use as
viewpoint. Unique view is spread on whole
region from there. As neighboring inhabitants
say about midnight in castle appears „ white
lady ” – ghost of queen Bone, which strolls with
a torch. On castle are organized knight's
competitions, picnics and other performance.
Łysa Góra- Święty Krzyż
Łysa Góra (595
meters) is one of
the highest
mountains in
Świętokrzyskie
Mountains. It is
special, because
we can see there in
the temple Holy
Cross.
Bartek Tree
Bartek is an
ancient oak tree in
Zagnańsk- near
Świętokrzyskie
Mountains. Its age,
long estimated at
up to 1200 years,
has recently been
established at 625
years.
