7 miracles of world in modern architecture.

1. University Library in Mexico City.

In first half of 50's there was built the university village in Mexico City. Village was to be a symbol of modern Mexico.

Most impressing and characteristic building is a library built in 1952. House differs with colorful mosaic which covers ten-storeyed block. The framer of the mosaic was J. Gorman, who has placed there history of Mexico.

2. Spodek in Katowice

It's the biggest spectacular-sports room in Poland. This project was made by M. Gintown and M. Krasinski from Warsaw project office.

It was devoted for application in 1971, Spodek is on of the first of such large buildings in the world.

3. Notre-Dame du Haut Ronchamp chapel (Le Corbusier)

Chapel Notre-Dame is not only a building, but a great sculpture made with concrete.

Built in 1950-1955 chapel has gained it's huge fame and it has initiated fashion on modern churches with innovatory lump.

Not only the lump chapel is amazing, but also interior. Corbusier has assured magic mood thanks to irregular small windows placed with out any regularity.

4. Franc of Lloyd Wright - museum Guggenheim in New York

In 1947, he designed for Pittsburgh oval garage, but the investment had not been implemented. Then he got a proposal to design for the Guggenheim Museum. Convinced investors that they resigned from a hexagonal and sold them his spiral. So the garage became a museum, a New York extended for another symbol.

5. Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco

Golden Gate Bridge is one of most beautiful bridges of the world. It boasted it's beauty till 1964, and also a longest bay in the world (1280 m łan talsyn'd tu handryd end ejtin miter's). In total it has only 2,7 km of length and then in the moment of the construction it was already shorted from the longest bridge in the world by 5 km.

6. Cathedral in Brasilia

The round cathedral was built from 16 concrete pylons, which shape refer to the arms risen towards the sky and it was made by L. Costa. Costa fulfilled the space between the poles only with stained-glass windows, which gave a wonderful effect.

7. Opera in Sydney

The house of opera in Sydney is the most famous as well as the most interesting architectural premises in Australia. Were schemed and constructed by architect J. Utzona in 1957-1973, to spits beetle on waters Lochs Sydney, near sky-scrapers on the center of Sydney.
