WARSAW

Warsaw became Poland's capital city in 1569 but this city was born in 13th century. The first information about settlement appeared in 10th century. It lies in the middle of Poland on the River Vistula.

It is one of Europe's youngest capital cities.

Warsaw has a population of about 1.650.000.

Warsaw is famous for many historic places. Among other things there are Old and New Town, the Royal Castle, the palace and garden of Wilanów, and the park with palace's building which called Łazienki Królewskie.

There are many museums, theatres and many shops of course.

There is a characteristic building the Palace of Culture and Science in the city centre.

In Warsaw there are about 800.000 cars, but Warsaw's streets are before fifty years. Trams and buses are public transport in Warsaw.

City has an underground but it is 13 kilometres only. The underground transports about 100.000 people a day.

The nicest places in Warsaw is zoological garden, Łazienki Królewskie park and old town with its quiet atmosphere.
