Age: 7

Aims: to read and write colour words in order to complete simple phrases and read a very simple story; to make tiny books based on a model.

Objective: learning how to read and write colour words (red, blue, pink, yellow, green, orange)

Materials: flashcards and word cards with six colours, scissors, glue, crayons, class books, activity book, a ready tiny book.

To learn to read names of six colours.

To present story in the class book

To learn reading the story

To make a tiny book and to practice writing names of colours

To give homework

  • Put six flashcards with colours on the board

  • Hold up a word card and invite a volunteer to come and place the word card directly under the correct picture card. Do the same with rest of colours.

  • Ss repeat with T all colour.

  • T. turns over one picture card and go through the sequence again.

  • T. continue until all the picture cards have been turned over and repeat the sequence until all Ss read words easily.

  • T asks Ss to open their books at the pg. 16 point and ask them: Who's this?

  • T. hold up a book and talk about pictures. Asks: How many books has Tina?; What colour are the books? ect.

  • T. points to the words and read the text aloud

  • Ss repeat each verse after teacher

  • Ss read each verse one by one aloud

  • Divide the class into pairs to take it turns to read to each other

  • T. asks Ss to open AB on pg. 45

  • T. explains to Ss how to cut out and make tiny books and Ss follows T. instructions;

  • Ss fill in their book with words.

  • Ss. read their books in front of all the class.

  • T. asks Ss to practice reading at home and to read to their family

  • T. asks Ss to prepare and bring to net lesson word and picture cards fro AB on pg. 59.

  • T. say: Goodbye

Word cards with blue, yellow, pink, orange, green clocks and flashcards with colours.

Text should be read slowly and naturally

Make sure that Ss underline the words with their finger as they repeat and read
