You will need to have a good Entry 1 or above knowledge of English. You will have an assessment of your level of English before you start the course

ESOL Course Fees
Basic cost £2.75 an hour (+ free exam) if you
have lived in the UK/EU/EEA for 3 years
or for 1 year & have been married to a British citizen for 1 year
are a refugee / have exceptional leave
Free if on JSA, WTC, Housing or Council benefit, Pension Guarantee Credit, Income support or are the unwaged dependant of the above
or are an asylum seeker who has lived here for 6 months
83p an hour if on IB, Carer's allowance, DLA or Attendance Allowance
Further Support Available
Threshold Fund If on a joint income less than £20,817, individual £17,500 & you can show evidence you can apply to pay £1.38 an hour
ESOL Course Fee Fund If you have no or little money and are not on benefits and would find it difficult to pay you can apply for Free classes
Learner Support Fund You can apply for help with childcare, books transport and materials if on benefits
If you have just arrived in the UK and are not from the EU/EEA
you will usually pay £8.25 an hr + exam fee (approx. £28)
All ESOL Course Fees are payable termly in advance

Work on your grammar and punctuation through computer exercises

Search for information using the Internet & CD-Roms
