From the halved kidney to the waning moon
Kalitum [kidney, the waning moon] in Akkadian was rounded up to create another fake word in Sumerian kalam. We can see that Sumerian was not a tonal language. The same phonetic value was simply distributed arbitrarily to different ideograms used for different stages of the moon from the half moon to complete full moon.
So MUL.KALAM [star complete] was used for full moon and also kalam > ellan/ ellag were used for the waning moon. Just like the moon changed so should the words used for the moon change as well. That was the Semitic logic. Actually the land of kalam, kanam, kanan was considered the earth as well. Originally people believed the earth was flat. The land of Canaan mentioned in the Bible was considered the entire earth from the point of the view in Sumeria. Kalam; ka-na-aĝ2; ka-naĝ "the Land (of Sumer)"
ka-na-ag/ ka-na-an/ kalam/ unug/ uruk/ uri/ derive from one single concept: flat earth, earth like a waning moon. The phonetic values have been changed at will by the scribes. The most important conclusion is that these names have been chosen by astrologers. Nobody spoke any Sumerian. There were no Sumerian people. Sumerian is not a tonal language; phonetic values that correspond to different tablets were used for different phases of the moon.

The moon/kidney on sixth to tenth day the moon called flat like the earth, halved like a kidney = literally kidney.
The fraud did not stop there. The name of Kidney for moon was chopped into two parts:

Sumerian language adopted the phonetic values MUL.KAL/ MUL.KALAM / ITUD as ideograms for the moon when in fact they all meant kidney in Akkadian. Then the scribes rounded up the name for the moon itu > UTU [sun]
Because the sun was considered as number twenty U + U [10 + 10] the giant star was called UTU instead of ITU the smaller star, the thin star, the kidney star, the moon.
