Hi all, as promised details of alterations to the chassis for left hand drive.
Converting the Haynes Roadster to left hand drive shouldn't be a difficult job.
On the main chassis uprights U7 and U8 should be repositioned as shown
Transmission tunnel tubes TT2, TT3, TT9, TT10, TT11 and TT12 need to be handed, that is swapped side for side and the angles reversed.
Build the steering wheel support frame as per the book with the angles on the bottom of SW1 and SW3 reversed, and then rotate through 180 degrees.
The alterations to the tubes are shown below
I dont have dimensions for the LHD sierra rack, position the rack supports by placing the rack in the frame, centred, and marking the position of the centres of the rack clamps on FF1. This is the position that plates CP19 and CP20 are centred on. If the distance between the rack centres on a LHD rack are the same as a RHD one then plate CP21 will fit, if not then make a similar plate to match to the rack centres.
Hope this helps
Cheers
Chris
Looking at the situation of TR5 I think it would be better to line up this member with TT12 and U7. This is the revised TR5 (plan)
This member doesn't need to be fitted after the engine.
