KABUL, Afghanistan (November 24) - An International Security Assistance Force vehicle struck a child in the Kama District of Nangarhar province today.
The child was given immediate medical attention and was evacuated with a family member to a U.S. military facility for further treatment.
The child's current condition is stable.
“It is always a tragedy when civilians are injured, especially when they are children,” said Col. John Spiszer, Commander, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division.
“We regret the situation and are providing the child with the best medical care we have available.”
The incident is under investigation.
