Avalanches occurred annually in the Littre Schwitzerland town, named Wiosen, situated in the little valley between mountain ranges. Those avalanches weren't to dangerous, due to the small range and minor devastation they caused. But in 1952, enormous avalanche struck the town, causing numerous destruction of town facilities. Half of inhabit buildings were buried deep under the snow. Severe weather conditions delayed rescue teams. Rescue action lasted three days. As a result of this calamity, 6 people had died and 24 were badly wounded.
