INTRODUCTION

The aim of this report is to describe attack on a convoy which took place at 21 of May, 2011.

TIME/ PLACE

Convoy started from Sahra base. Destination of a convoy was El Vahnir. Attack took place on 21 of May at 11:30am. When convoy was riding in Bahiret Valley, attack started.

ATTACK

When last vehicle was entering Bahiret Valley, the attackers started shooting. One of vehicle was hit by a grenade. Truck exploded. Convoy opened fire against enemy. Fire back length was 30 minutes. Attackers had to escape because QRF attacked them from the air.

ATTACKERS

There were about 20 attackers. Attackers were unknown. The machine guns and grenades were used by guerrillas.

DAMAGES/ LOSES

One truck exploded. Two soldiers were killed and another two got badly injured. Their condition was bad. First soldier lost his legs and was in shock. Second soldier had chest wound and blooding.

SUGGESTIONS

In my opinion there should be more patrols in this area. It will make it safer. Route of convoys should be changed.
