The Yellow Scarf
Every girl needs a yellow scarf in her wardrobe. Nothing spells sunshine and happiness like
the color yellow, so why not wear it as a light and lacy scarf? This crocheted length of lace
keeps the cool breezes of spring from chilling your neck.
Materials:
Aunt Lydia’s Classic Crochet Size 10 in Goldenrod
US size 3.25 mm D/3 crochet hook
Yarn needle
Scarf:
Ch 49 (Multiple of 6 + 1)
Row 1: Sc in 10
th
ch from hook, *ch 3, skip 2 ch, tr in next ch, ch 3, skip 2 ch, sc in next ch,
repeat from * across, ending with tr in last ch, turn.
Row 2: Ch 3, skip first tr and ch 3, tr in next sc, ch 2, skip 3 ch, sc in tr, *ch 2, skip 3 ch, tr in
sc, ch 2, skip 3 ch, sc in tr, repeat from * across, ending with sc in fourth ch of beg ch.
Row 3: Ch 7, skip sc and ch2, *sc in next tr, ch 3, skip ch 2, tr in sc, ch 3, skip 2 ch, repeat
from * across, ending with tr in last ch, turn.
Repeat Rows 2 and 3 until the scarf is 45-50” long, ending with a Row 2. Obviously you are
free to alter the length of the scarf as short or as long as you want.

Finishing:
Block scarf. When I say block, I mean lay a cotton pillowcase over it and iron it with full
steam. Pin it out while you’re blocking it if you like, but mine turned out just fine without
pinning. Block both sides of scarf until it is loose and flat. Weave in ends.
