NEW MAJOR DATA PACKAGE VERSION 6.0 (MCU SW 4.03.18)


New major data package version 6.0 (MCU SW 4.03.18) has been released
for RM-1.

Before installing product data package, please install Phoenix Service
Software version 2005.04.6.84 or later.

Do not remove old RM-1 major data package version 5.0 before installing
new major data package 6.0.

Software downgrade is not allowed, due to BB5 security. In case older
software is flashed, the phone does not boot up. USB flashing doesn’t
work if phone cannot boot up. This can be fixed by flashing newer
software or the same software that was previously used in the phone.
This can be done only in level 3 service using phone specific adapter
and prommer.

Major data package v6.0 includes following SW components:

Default SW setting files (product profiles, user profiles, WAP bookmarks,
etc)

Changes/improvements made from MCU SW v 3.45.11.3 to v 4.03.18:

Telephony:

2-digit voice mailbox numbers supported (e.g. “*30”), earlier minimum
was 3 or more numbers

GSM AMR voice codec supported

Behaviour improved when Call Control and FDN is activated

Operator name display functionality improved

Handling of saved browser pages with inconsistent HTTP content-type

Decoding of HTML tag information when split between different TCP

HTTP pipelining will be set as disabled in terminal to ensure correct
display of images and other content when used with spesific content
servers (IIS 4.0, 5.0 and Netscape-Enterprise 3)

Cookie handling on some webpages improved. ECMAScript handling
changed.

longer closes itself
