Materials Needed

·ð J Hook- for stocking
·ð H hook- for features
·ð G Hook- for features
·ð Felt (optional)
·ð Fabric Paint (optional)
·ð Hot Glue (if using felt)
·ð Yarn Needle
Work toe, heel and first round of body in black, change to white, work second round of body in back
loops only, work remaining stocking in white.
Neckline
With H hook and white, ch 2
Row 1 sc 2 in 2nd ch from hook, ch 1, turn
Row 2 work 2 sc in 1st st, sc in next, ch 1, turn
Row 3 sc, 2 sc in next, sc, ch 1, turn
Row 4 sc, 2 sc in next, sc next 2, ch 1, turn
Row 5 sc 2, 2 sc in next, sc 2, ch 1, turn
Row 6 sc 3, 2 sc in next, sc 2, ch 1, turn
Row 7 sc 3, 2 sc in next, sc 3, ch 1, turn
Row 8-10 sc in each st across, ch 1, turn (do not turn after row 10)
Working down side of piece, sc in end of each row, *sc, ch 2, ss in 2nd ch from hook, sc* in starting ch,
continue to sc in end of each row going up the other side, ss to 1st sc of Row 10, fasten off leaving tail for
sewing.
Bat Head
With H hook and black, ch 2
Row 1 sc 2 in 2nd ch from hook, ch 1, turn
Row 2 work 2 sc in 1st st, sc in next, ch 1, turn
Row 3 sc, 2 sc in next, sc, ch 1, turn
Row 4 sc, 2 sc in next 2, sc next, ch 1, turn
Row 5-6 sc in each st across, ch 1, turn
Row 7 sc2tog, sc next 2, sc2tog, ch 5, turn
Row 8 ss in 2nd ch from hook, sc in next, hdc in next 2, sk next st, sc next 2, ch 5, ss in 2nd ch from hook,
sc in next, hdc in next 2, sk next st, rotate piece and sc in side of each row down to the starting ch, *sc,
ch 2, ss in 2nd ch from hook, sc* in starting ch, sc along other side in the end of each row, ss to beginning
of row 7, fasten off leaving tail for sewing
Bat Eyes (make 2)
With G hook and white, ch 3, sc in 2nd ch from hook, 3 sc in next, working other side of ch, 2 sc in starting
ch, join, fasten off leaving tail for sewing. Sew to bat head.
Bat Wings (make 2)
With G hook and black, ch 21
Row 1 sc in 2nd ch from hook and next, hdc to end, ch 1, turn
Row 2-3 sc 7, ch 14, sc in 2nd ch from hook and next, hdc remaining ch and st to end, ch 1, turn
Fasten off leaving tail for sewing. Sew straight sides together to form the  bowtie. With white, either
embroider or paint (Tulip Slick Fabric Paint) on white markings as shown in photo. Stabilize wings by hot
gluing to felt to keep from curling if decided.
Eyes (make 2)
With J hook and black, make a magic circle
Round 1 hdc 6 into ring, tighten, join, ch 1
Round 2 work 2 hdc into each st around, join, ch 1
Round 3 sc 2, hdc 2, 3 dc in next, hdc 2, sc 4, join, fasten off leaving long tail for sewing.
Using photo as a guide, sew pieces on stocking. With black, either embroider or paint on mouth and
nostrils.
