Chłopiec:

Hi Julie, Mike here. I feel bad today. I have a headache and a high
temperature. My mum says it’s a bad cold and I should go to the doctor.

Dziewczynka: I’m so hungry!
Chłopiec:

Would you like an orange, Alice?

Dziewczynka: Haven’t you got any pears?
Chłopiec:

No, I haven’t. But these oranges are really good.

Dziewczynka: OK, I’ll have one.

Tekst 3.
Dziewczynka: It’s my favourite day. I can sleep longer because I don’t have to go to school

on Sunday. In the afternoon my brother, my sister and I go to my
grandmother’s and we have dinner together. Later, I watch TV or go to
the park. In the evening I usually read books.

Chłopiec:

Let’s go to the garden and play with the dog.

Dziewczynka: Sorry, I can’t. I have to clean my room. Give me those books, please.
Chłopiec:

The ones on the bed?

Dziewczynka: Yes, exactly.
Chłopiec:

Here you are.

Dziewczynka: Thanks.

Dialog 2.
Mężczyzna:

Hello, can I help you?

Dziewczynka: Yes, please. I need a book about elephants.
Mężczyzna:

I see. Have a look at this. It has beautiful pictures and lots of information about
these animals.

Dziewczynka: OK, I’ll take it, thanks.
Mężczyzna:

That’s 10 pounds, please.

Dialog 3.
Chłopiec:

I’m happy we’re here today. It’s such a nice day.

Dziewczynka: Look! There’s a giraffe.
Chłopiec:

I don’t like giraffes. I want to see the big elephants.

Dziewczynka: OK, the elephants are this way. (Pause) Here they are.
Chłopiec:

Do you see that? That baby elephant is eating a banana.

Dziewczynka: Yes, it’s really cute. Listen, if you like elephants so much why don’t you buy

a book about them. I saw one in the shop near the entrance.

Chłopiec: Good

Kobieta:

Home at last. It’s so quiet in here.

Mężczyzna:

Kate’s backpack is on the floor again! Is she at home?

Kobieta:

No, she is meeting Lucy and they are going to the cinema at 4 o’clock.

Mężczyzna:

As usual, she’s forgotten her scarf. It’s on the table.

Kobieta:

And she’s also left her gloves. They’re on the chair. She’ll get cold.

Mężczyzna:

By the way, do you know what time she’s coming back?

Kobieta:

No. I’ll call and ask her. Maybe the film hasn’t started yet. But where
is the phone? It should be on the shelf. It’s not there. Can you see it anywhere?

Mężczyzna:

Dziewczynka: My family like sports very much. My father’s a good swimmer. He goes

swimming twice a week. My mother prefers tennis. She plays it with her
friends every weekend. I can’t play tennis or swim, but every day I go jogging
in the park.

Are you ready? Have you packed everything?

Dziewczynka: Yes, I think so.
Mężczyzna:

What about your camera? Have you put it into your suitcase?

Dziewczynka: Yes, of course. You know how much I like taking pictures.
Mężczyzna:

What about something to read?

Dziewczynka: I’ve packed that new book you gave me last week.
Mężczyzna:

And don’t forget your sunglasses! They are still on the table.

Dziewczynka: Thank you, Dad. I’m going to wear them. It’s sunny today.

Chłopiec:

Aunt Mary, look at this photo! I took it during my holidays. The place was
so beautiful. There were no cars or tall buildings. Only trees, mountains
and snow. And that’s our hotel. Maybe next year you could go with us?

It’s Mum’s birthday tomorrow. Have you got a present for Mum?

Dziewczynka: Of course. A beautiful drawing. I’m sure she’ll like it.
Chłopiec:

And I’m going to buy her a cake.

Dziewczynka: What? A cake? Buy her some flowers, she loves roses.
Chłopiec:

Oh, no. I think a cake is a better idea. Will you go and buy it with me?

Dziewczynka: OK, let’s go.
