Bunny Bag Directions
1. Cut outer bag, pocket and lining using pattern pieces.
2. Gather upper edge of outer bag (A) and attach to the lower edge of the band (B)
with a quarter inch hem. Press.
3. Attach eyelet lace or other trim to upper edge of top band, ¼” from top edge.
4. Using a long stitch, stitch about a ¼” in from curved edges of pocket (C), pull
thread to ease rounded edge. Iron. Edge finish top edge. Fold top edge down,
right sides together, ¼” from the top and stitch edges. Turn and press. Pocket
should be complete.
5. Cut bunny ears out of white and pink felt. Using a machine zig zag stitch, attach
the pink to the white. Place ears behind upper edge of pocket and topstitch along
the edge of the pocket. I did a double row of top stitching.
6. Center the pocket on the bag, about 1 ¼” from the bottom edge. Stitch close to
the edge of the pocket to secure.
7. With right sides together, sew bag fronts together.
8. With right sides together, sew bag linings together leaving an opening at the
bottom for turning.
9. With right sides together, sew lining and outer bag together along the upper edge.
Turn and handstitch opening inside the lining.
10. Press upper edge.
11. Cut a piece of 7/8” wide grosgrain ribbon, about 14” long and fold under the
edges. Attach to the bag on either side, centered about the side seam.
12. Tie a couple of decorative bows using coordinating ribbon and attach them with
hand stitched over the ends of the ribbon handle.
