Instructor: You just heard the word “temprano.” Temprano quiere decir “early.” You
also heard the phrase “a las ocho.” A las ocho quiere decir “at eight o’clock.” Escuche la

Instructor: In this lesson we shall introduce some basic greetings. You will also learn
how to conjugate regular “I-R” verbs in the present tense. You will also use the “tú” or
familiar form for “you” in this lesson unless instructed to use the “usted” form.

Instructor: “¿Cómo se llama usted?” is the formal way to ask “What’s your name?”
This is a less formal way to ask “¿Cómo se llama usted?” Escucha y repite.

Instructor: In this lesson, we will only ask “what’s your name?” in the informal way.
