techniques: stringing " crimping " netting
Crystalicious Bracelet Bonnie Clewans
This knock- em-dead crystal bracelet shown on page 31 of the December
2005/January 2006 issue of Beadwork features two shapes of beaded
beads one, a double-sided rosette, and the other, a faceted cylinder. They re
made one at a time, then strung together with seed beads and bicones and
fastened with a button and loop closure.

5 g bronze size 11° Japanese seed beads (A) 5 g bronze size 11° Japanese seed beads (A)
12 assorted 3mm Swarovski crystal rounds (3 each of jet, 4 vitrail medium 5mm Swarovski crystal rondelles
indicolite, Indian red, olivine, light Colorado topaz AB, 18 assorted 6mm Swarovski crystal rounds
and smoked topaz) (3 each of light smoked topaz, olivine, indicolite,
30 assorted 4mm Swarovski crystal rounds (5 each of jet, Dorado X2, Indian red, and jet)
indicolite, Indian red, olivine, light Colorado topaz AB, 4' of 6-lb Fireline beading thread

BEADED CYLINDER BEADED ROSETTE
ROUND 1: Use 2' of thread to string one 4mm and 1A six times. Tie 1: Use 4' of thread to string 6A; tie into a circle leaving a 4" tail. String
into a circle leaving a 4" tail to form the base ring. 1A, one 6mm, and 1A; skipping the last 1A, pass back through the
ROUND 2: String 1A, one 4mm, 1A, one 4mm, and 1A; pass through crystal, 1A, and the next 1A in the base ring. Repeat to make 5 more

4: String one 6mm and 1A; pass through the next 1A at the end
of a fringe and repeat Step 3. Continue around to connect the fringe
for a total of six 6mm crystals; do not string any A beads for the
last stitch (Figure 6). Pass through all the 4-bead loops and 6mm
beads again to reinforce.
Pass through a 6mm and 2A to exit the center of one of the base
rings. String 1 rondelle and 1A; pass back through the rondelle and
through the base ring, tying knots between beads; trim. Figure 6
Repeat to make 4 beaded beads.
MATERIALS FOR BRACELET STRINGING THE BRACELET
5 beaded cylinders 1: String 30B to the center of the beading wire. Use both ends of
4 beaded rosettes the wire to string 1 bicone. Check that the loop of beads fits over the
2 g bronze iris size 8° seed beads (B) button and adjust the bead count as necessary.
10 olivine 6mm Swarovski crystal bicones 2: Use both ends of the wire to string the beaded beads, stringing
20mm shank glass button 1 bicone between each of them.
2 crimp beads 3: At the end, string 1 bicone, 2 crimp beads, and the button. Pass
2' of .014 beading wire both ends of the wire back through the crimp beads; crimp and trim.
