Description and instruction of the "Night Observer".
The program I wrote under the impulse to have the program on a laptop,
the screen is not blinded by your brilliance when you are
at the telescope under a dark, starry sky. For many years,
I try to popularize astronomy and like my previous program
AstroJaWil so he created as free help for those who
want to have information about the visible objects in the sky during
astronomical observations. Program has two language versions Polish
and English. Not only observers of the Polish able to benefit from the program.
I know there are already several similar programs and information about the stars
and celestial objects are scattered around the internet, but I wanted to
have its my own program, where the information necessary for the observation will be
in one place. From 6 October 2011 the program systematically enrich
an additional useful features.
The program displays the entire sky visible above the horizon in the form of wheels,
as you can see on the maps revolving sky. At the center of the monitor
You can turn on the cross, which indicates the central point.
By clicking the mouse in the other object in the sky to set it in the middle of the cross.
Around this central cross Information Field's, which size can be changed in Settings.
After clicking on the menu at the Fields of Information, you can alternatively view
cross and Field Information in the form of a square with short segments of diagonals.
After clicking on the [Info] is displayed information about all
the stars and objects that lie inside the field of Information.
Above the list of displayed information, there is a bar with buttons
to obtain detailed information about these objects in Polish and English.
The program is operated by clicking the mouse on the stars, or buttons
on multiple panels, as well as many keys on the keyboard are assigned
some action. To move around the map, use the arrows, zoom in, PgUp,
reduction-PgDn-Home base location, the maximum reduction-End.
If you enable too much information use the [Delete] on upper bar or '0 'on the keyboard.
We also have three written to disk favorite settings.
Setting the Startup [f1] is low magnification of a small amount of objects,
[F2] is already higher magnification, [f3] is a datailed map around a selected
the object. Everyone can define these buttons: after setting the parameter maps
just go to "Settings" and there click on the icon selected favorite settings.
Besides, what can other programs, "Night Observer" has a few in my opinion
interesting and unique features. One of them is the Night Visibility of the Object.
When you point your mouse at the selected object, compute the step every 20 minutes
and will show all positions of the selected object when it is dark
(Sun altitude < 10 degrees), and the object will then be at least 5 degrees above
the horizon.
Around the horizon you can generate the boundary of all obstacles
field, which obscure the sky for us. Then you can always check
whether the phenomenon in the sky will be visible from this location. In the "Settings"
can you edit the "Buildings" and input your own.
The program displays the positions of stars, planets and objects converted to epoch 2000.0.
Currently, the position of the Moon is counted to the nearest minute, so
for now you can not see clearly view a solar eclipse, or occultation
the stars. To show accurate occultations of stars by the Moon program supports
previously counted OCCULT ephemeris program by Dave Herald of Australia.
Scrolling in Night Mode is off (blinding sight).
