UPGRADING YOUR INSTALLATION TO VERSION 2.4.16-STABLE

YOU MUST BE RUNNING v2.2.2 TO UPGRADE PROPERLY

IF YOU ARE RUNNING ANY VERISON OLDER THAN V2.2.2 - DO NOT READ
FURTHER - THIS FILE IS NOT REQUIRED FOR YOUR INSTALLATION OR
UPGRADE. ]

Estimated Time: Between 20 minutes to 1 hour (depending on
your connection speed)

FAILURE TO FOLLOW THESE STEPS WILL CAUSE FAILURES THROUGOUT

* if you have custom headers, backup your footer.php file *
* and your header2.php file so you can restore back easily*

1) re-upload ALL files in this distribution, overwriting ALL
existing files from your current release. ALL files must be
over-written and they must be uploaded in FORCED BINARY or the
encryption will fail causing files to not load.

2) rename your existing /inc/var.php file to /inc/var.php.bak
*** this is done so you can obtain your license number easily ***

3) create a backup of your existing database

4) CHMOD 777 the folder /inc

5) Once all complete, go to your admin area

( or http://yourdomain.com/folder/admin/index.php )

This will revert you into the installation/upgrade process of
this release. At Step One - you MUST check the upgrade box to
apply updates to your database to take it to v2.3.0.

Everything that was in your var.php file (except database connect)
has been moved to a database table that can be edited easily, when
needed, from your admin area under 'Configuration Edit'

Once complete, you will get a success screen listing cron jobs, etc.
At this time, click continue and it will remind you to make last minute
adjustments before the process is complete.

Note: any existing admin logins will not exist after upgrade, only the
one you create during the upgrade process.

Once all is complete, you will be taken directly to the admin section.

We have removed real-time script news to speed up your admin login. ALL
news is now released via the forums 'News and Updates' area. There is
a link directly to this from that news box.

THIS STEP MUST BE PERFORMED BEFORE DOING ANYTHING INSIDE YOUR ADMIN AREA

--> run this file /admin/convert_mysql2unix.php

Only run it once, and DO NOT HIT THE STOP BUTTON OR BACK BUTTON

This will convert all data in the database, big databases can take up to
10 minutes to run this conversion but please, do not close that window or
hit the back button until it says 'complete'

Once you see this has been completed, delete that file from your admin area

This should be ALL that needs to be done to upgrade to this version.
