MATERIALS
vð Worsted Weight Yarn (Medium #4) 325 yards total
vð MC (main color) grey; CC (contrasting color) white; AC
(accent color) black
vð Crochet Hook I (5.5mm) or hook recommended by yarn
vð Crochet Hook G (4.0-4.5mm) or a size or two smaller than
recommended hook
vð Tapestry Needle, Ruler/Measuring Tape, Stitch Marker, Fiberfill
NOTES
vð Gauge is not important to this project and you may use other weights of yarn. Just make sure you are using a
comfortable hook for the yarn you choose.
vð Make sure the smaller hook creates tight enough stitches so the fiberfill stuffing will not show through.
vð An I hook with worsted weight yarn should produce about an 18 blanket.
vð When working in rounds that are not joined, use the stitch marker to hold your place as necessary.
vð If you want a less noticeable decrease use inv sc2tog in place of sc2tog.

Keep working rounds in the same pattern - rotating R8 and R9 and increasing
the *to* repeat by one on even rounds. You will be working 2 hdc in the first hdc
of the increase of the previous round and working spikes in hdc and hdc in
spikes. Each round will increase by 8 sts. Work until you reach about 17.5 and
then proceed to border. You may switch to a different color yarn at any point
during the rounds. Blanket in pictures switched to CC at 13 circumference and
back to MC for last round and border.
Border: ch 1, rsc in each st, FO and weave in all tails.
ARMS (make 2)
R1: with CC and G hook, magic loop, ch 1, 6 sc in
loop (6)
R2: 2 sc in each st (12)
R3: [2 sc in next st, sc in next st] 6 times (18)
R4-6: sc in each st (18)
R7: sc2tog 6 times, sc in 6 sts (12)
R8-20: sc in each st (12)
Sl st, FO leaving long tail for sewing on both the
arms and head. Stuff with fiberfill. Use tails to sew
onto blanket directly across from each other at the
top of R1 of the blanket. Leave extra tails for sewing
on head.
