KT Method
Sternoclavicular Ligament (Pad Type)
Movie for broad-band (300kbps)
Patient position: seated with the hand
resting on the opposite shoulder.
Place a 5 cm square, 1.5 cm thick felt
pad over the sternoclavicular
ligament.
Tear the paper backing away from the
central portion of the tape, leaving the
backing on the tails.
Holding the Kinesio Tex by the tails,
pull the central portion of the tape with
moderate (50%) available tension and
apply the 10cm Kinesio Tex vertically
over the sternoclavicular joint.
Apply the ends (tails) of the Kinesio
Tex with no tension..
Place the arms at the side.
Tear the paper backing away from the
central portion of the tape, leaving the
backing on the tails.
Apply the 15 cm piece of Kinesio Tex
perpendicular to the first piece of
tape.
Holding the Kinesio Tex by the tails,
pull the central portion of the tape with
moderate (50%) available tension and
apply the central portion to the
sternoclavicular ligament.
Apply the ends (tails) of the Kinesio
Tex with no tension.
Completed Kinesio Tex application:
