The online, 'dynamic', "Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy"

Note that, if you have a full version of Adobe Acrobat
(with .PDF-Maker, etc.), you can open the Acrobat program,
and from the _File pull-down menu, choose "Open _Web Page"
(or press Ctrl+Shift+O), and enter the above URL (or copy and
paste it from this file).

Acrobat then takes a while to retrieve the full .HTML file
from the site. Once you see that the list has been copied
(51 pages, in 1/2004), you can browse the list, and click on
all the blue links that interest you. You may want to do this
in alphabetical order --otherwise, Acrobat copies the links
in the order that you enter them. Note that you may have
to go to the first page (the Unabridged list) after each
entry is copied, and scroll down to the next entry, and
click on it from that list. Before the title of each entry,
there is a line with all the letters in alphabetical order.
However, if you click on those letters, you will be
taken to the Abridged list...

No doubt, the encyclopedia is far from ready at this point.
Also, many of the articles will hopefully be rewritten (partly
in response to criticism from the readers). Still, if you want
to have your own 'portable' version of the Encyclopedia, this
is perhaps better than copying the .HTML files individually.

SEP is free and 'dynamic', but it is not complete (as of 8/2006).
