Scalenus Anterior

Patient position:
Supine with the head rotated to the opposite
side, elbows bent, hands beside head and
resting on table. Stabilize the thoracic area.
With the head turned to the side, raise the
neck and head from the table.
Examiner pressure:
Against the temporal region of the head in an
obliquely posterior direction. Pressure is
applied more toward the midline than that for
the sternocleidomastoid manual muscle test.
Check on the radio button that best describes your test results. If the numeric grade is lower
than 5, click on the NEXT button located on the bottom right hand corner of this page, and
proceed to the Tape Specification Section.
